JUST A SNIPPET

Saying that you’re going is one thing but actually taking that step forward and doing it, that’s an entirely different thing in itself.” I remember one of the missionaries saying this to me as I got ready for my missions trip to Thailand. (Read blog post THE DREAM where I share about my journey to go to Thailand as a missionary).
Fast-forward to two-and-a-half months later. God has taught me so many things while being here. Here’s just a snippet of what I’ve learned.

Seeing the oppression over the border to Myanmar, not being able to do anything as the war continues among this people; all we can do is pray for them, encourage our fellow missionaries and support them with what we have. I have seen the inner struggle the Thai people have towards accepting the truth about God and about His unending love. Many are skeptical and reject His love, preferring their multiple gods/idols. But we know that God is patient and so loving as He waits at the door of every heart—waiting for them to let Him come inside.

I’m currently assisting a missionary couple with their Book House ministry, childrens’ learning center, prayer meetings, and youth meetings. There are many projects up ahead that we will be starting soon. But for now our hands are quite full with the Book House Ministry. It’s sole purpose is to donate free Christian literature, Bibles in different languages, gospel tracts, and Sunday school material to as many people as we can in our community. We have been able to see God’s faithfulness as He provides opportunities for us to assist other missionaries with their ministries and outreaches, such as giving them gospel tracts and Bibles in Burmese and Thai languages.

Overall, I feel humbled and blessed to be a part of the Share the Gospel Ministries, assisting wherever the help is needed. I know that many times as missionaries we don’t see the trees yielding fruit, but I’ve learned that we have to rely on God’s timing not ours. We must plant the seed while others water, and God will make it grow.
(I Corinthians 3:6-9)

I don’t want to keep all these stories and experiences to myself. I would like to take you along with me, sharing what God is teaching and showing me. I pray that these blogs continue to be a blessing to your life.
