BEAUTY FROM ASHES

“No, no that can’t be true…”

“I just don’t believe it!”

“Wait…could it be true??”

There has always been a conflict within me. And I’m sure that I’m not the only one. I always questioned the fact that I’m beautiful before God’s eyes. I was always doubting that I had a special place in God’s heart.

How is that even possible?! I have SO MANY flaws!! I’m not tall or beautiful like other girls. I’m not intelligent like many smarties out there (I always have to study extra so that I can pass my exams). I’m not courageous like so many other people. I’m so introverted. I don’t have flawless skin. I don’t have an athletic body. I’m not…perfect.

Day in and day out, I would ask myself: “How can anybody love me? I have so many imperfections.” But in the midst of my doubts, in the midst of my fears, and in the midst of my tears, I heard a soft whisper say: “I do.” Wait what?? I thought to myself: “I’m a nobody. Okay, okay. I know. , Yes—yes, you loved the world and You came to earth to die for us; buuut…how am I worthy of your love—of being loved by anybody??” God answered me again through a devotional I had started reading.

Embrace Who You are: Loving How God Made You: “I was there when my daughter, whom I crafted, whom I adore, whom I formed and designed and shape ever still, believed she was less than what she should be. Less perfect, less valued, less worthy than…Less than whom? Less than what, my daughter? You are beautiful because I made you. You are exquisite because I shaped you. You are worthy because I say so. I chose you. I chose to make you. YOU. And daughter, I don’t make mistakes.” Ohhh, those words jumped out at me! At that moment I felt God’s arms wrap around me, reassuring me of His precious love for me. I cried. Not because I was sad, but because I could finally understand God’s endless love for me. He created me. He shaped me with his caring hands. I am worthy because HE SAYS SO!! I don’t need anyone else’s approval. I don’t need anyone else to tell me how gorgeous, how smart, or how perfect I am. God says I am exquisite before His eyes. And his approval outranks everyone else’s!!

I have exposed myself by writing this and sharing it with you all. I did it because I know that there are countless of people who might feel the same; they need an encouragement.

• Stop doubting.

• Stop all of those negative thoughts.

• Stop believing that you are worthless, imperfect, and so faulty.

Guess what?? There’s Someone out there that has loved you since before you were born. He carefully and masterfully created you. He has called you HIS. He loves you with an infinite love that covers a multitude of imperfections. His love and adoration for you is wider than the sky, deeper than the oceans, and higher than the stars.

It doesn’t matter whether Ms Gorgeous over there has more followers than you on social media just because she’s all that. It doesn’t matter that Mr Smarty-pants over there got the position you wanted just because he’s “so brainy”. It doesn’t matter that Ms Perfect over there is liked by everybody because she’s so elegant and attractive. It doesn’t matter!!

Before God, it doesn’t matter, for it will all fade away over the years. YOU matter before God! He wants you to feel His strong and loving arms hold you. He wants you to know that You are His Masterpiece. There is no one better than you. You are unique and special. You are the apple of His eye. And guess what?? He is still perfecting you. Can you imagine how perfect and amazing you will be after He is done working in you?! From now on, don’t doubt that you are loved.
