“STOP WANDERING…”

Everyone is different; we all think differently. We have our own opinions about everything and we make sure to make those thoughts and opinions known by everyone close to us. But these past few days I have come to realize that although God created us differently, we all share a common thought–to have that emptiness within is, filled with something.

As a Christian I know that our emptiness can ONLY be filled with God’s love. I was saddened, grieved by, and I felt my eyes open as I was reading my daily Bible portion and I came across Amos 8:11-12: “‘Behold, the days are coming,’ declares the Lord God, ‘when I will send a famine on the land–not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, to seek the word of the Lord, but they shall not find it.’ ”

These verses helped me see that around us everyone is trying to find a way to fill their emptiness whether by drugs, alcohol, immorality, wealth, fame, etc.

God has given us the right to choose. The right to choose to believe in His love and mercy. He wants to fill that void within us, to wipe away our tears, to lift up the burdens we carry, to embrace us with His arms, to hear our cries of agony. He wants to, but if no one chooses to believe that He is a real God and that only His love can fill in that void, then they will “wander from sea to sea…to seek the word of the Lord, but they shall not find it.”

Stop wandering.

Let God open your eyes.
